SOLBIATE OLONA’s MYOR AWARDED THE “HONORARY CITIZENSHIP” TO NRDC-ITA

On 18th December 2012, NATO Rapid Deployable Corps Italy (NRDC-ITA) received the award of the “honorary citizenship” relating to the capacity of ensuring all institutional tasks in accordance with the high principle of global peace.Lieutenant General Giogio BATTISTI, HQ NRDC-ITA Commander, received the “honorary citizenship” plate by Solbiate Olona’s Mayor, Mr. Luigi Salvatore MELIS.

PREPARATION FOR ISAF DEPLOYMENT 12

HQ priorities for 2012 were to set the conditions for a successful deployment to Afghanistan while, at the same time, the HQ was to focus on the other key objective to develop the JOINT TASK FORCE HQ capability and establish a JOINT LOGISTIC SUPPORT GROUP HQ Communications Support Element (CSE) by the end of 2014.

DEPUTY UKRAINE CHoD, LT GEN VIKTOR MUZHENKO, VISITED NRDC-ITA

Lieutenant General Viktor Muzhenko, Deputy Ukraine Chief of Defence, ended his visit to Ugo Mara Barracks, home of the NATO Rapid Deployable Corps - Italy on 20th  November 2012.
General Muzhenko was received by the NRDC-ITA Commander, Lieutenant General Giorgio Battisti, who provided an overview on the Headquarters and future engagements.

MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS DISCUSS AFGHANISTAN AT UGO MARA BARRACKS

Delegates from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs outlined their vision of the future relationship with Afghanistan and highlighted real examples of progress as part of an ISAF pre-deployment seminar at “Ugo Mara” Barracks.

GERMAN MOUNTAIN MEN VISIT NRDC-ITA

SOLBIATE OLONA (VA), 24 OCT 2012. The German Contingent of HQ NRDC-ITA played host to staff from the 230th Mountain Reconnaissance Battalion during a visit on 24 October, 2012.
The Fuessen-based Battalion, under the lead of Lieutenant Colonel Ulrich Schmidt-Narischkin, was hosted by the German Senior National Representative, Colonel Peter Uffelmann, and his team.

ITALIAN PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY VISITS UGO MARA BARRACKS

NRDC-ITA SHARP SHOOTERS

BUSTO ARSIZIO (VA), 29 SEPT 2012. A TEAM of NRDC-ITA sharp shooters fired their way to victory in a shooting competition in Busto Arsizio, on 29 September, 2012.
An impressive display from the shooting team saw them claim first and second place in the individual classification, and two teams in the top three overall.

STAFF MEMBERS NRDC-ITA CONDUCT BATTLEFIELD TOUR IN NORTHERN ITALY

Studying the past to better understand our present and improve our future. This was the goal of the staff members of NATO Rapid Deployable Corps - Italy that from 14 to 16 September conducted a battlefield tour in the Italian region near Rimini, close to the coast with the Adriatic Sea. The battlefield tour was focused along the eastern Gothic Line where some very important WWII events took place between August and September 1944.

ITALIAN LAND FORCES COMMANDER VISITS “UGO MARA" BARRACKS

“UGO MARA” Barracks played host to the Italian Land Forces Commander on Friday, 29 June, during a visit to the NATO Rapid Deployable Corps (Italy).
Lieutenant General Roberto Bernardini, from Land Forces Command in Verona, was updated on operational affairs and took the opportunity to meet Senior National Representatives from the fifteen different nations that combine to form the Headquarters.

On 9 February 2012 Lt Gen Giorgio Battisti, COM NRDC-ITA, hosted the Eagle Eye Seminar 2012.  This annual seminar is designed to maintain the situational awareness of the NRDC-ITA Command Group, affiliated unit commanders and staff, whilst promoting the critical examination of issues of relevance.
