AMERICAN INDIPENDANCE DAY CELEBRATIONS AT UGO MARA BARRACKS

AMERICAN servicemen and their international colleagues joined together in celebrations at “Ugo Mara” Barracks today in commemoration of the declaration of US Independence on 4 July, 1776.


SOLBIATE OLONA (VA), 04 JULY 2012. American servicemen and their international colleagues joined together in celebrations at Ugo Mara Barracks today in commemoration of the declaration of US Independence on July 4th, 1776.
The anniversary saw members from 15 different nations share their community spirit and celebrate the history and traditions of the United States, sampling food and drink and enjoying rousing music.
An enormous Stars and Stripes cake, in particular, proved extremely popular amongst the guests as the camp’s Summer Garden was turned Red, White and Blue’
Event organiser, Major David Maher, said: This is an important day for us to celebrate with our friends and families.
It is also an honour to host today the International Community during the National Day of the United States, many of whom have played a key role in the development of our country.
