NRDC ITA COMMUNITY CELEBRATES QUEEN’s DIAMOND JUBILEE

On 7 June 2012, the NRDC ITA Community celebrated together with the UK contingent the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second, Sovereign of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, at Ugo Mara Barracks in Solbiate Olona.


SOLBIATE OLONA (VA),  7 June 2012. The NRDC ITA Community celebrated together with the UK contingent the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second, Sovereign of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, at Ugo Mara Barracks in Solbiate Olona.
Major General Tom Beckett, DCOM NRDC ITA, briefly reminded of the role of the UK Monarchy in his address to the audience. Major General Castellano, COS NRDC ITA, expressed the camaraderie of all the NRDC ITA contingents towards the UK members. Local Authorities were present, such as the Deputy Chief of the Prefettura di Varese, The Provincial Carabinieri Commander and the Mayor of Solbiate Olona.
Event organiser, Lieutenant Colonel Martin Bever, said: The Queen’s official birthday was given added importance this year by the Diamond Jubilee.  We wanted to bring together the community in our celebrations and to thank local dignitaries for their support throughout the year.  The event was a great success.
NRDC ITA is not only a NATO High Readiness Force Headquarters capable of conducting military operations, but also a community of fifteen nationalities in which team spirit is enhanced by the exchange of different cultures and national identities.
