Busto Arsizio (VA), 19 June 2018 - A thanksgiving meeting organized by the management of AIAS was attended by representatives of the NRDC-ITA and NIWIC (NRDC-ITA International Women's Club).
Today's event was made possible following the International and Charity Day 2018, which occurred 19 May 2018. In addition, thanks must go to NIWIC (EXPAND), PASFA, and the numerous sponsors of last months successful event held at the Expo Centre, Milan.
The association announced that the funds received would be used to fund the training program for rehabilitation workers during 2018-2019. In the words of the President, Bruno CECCUZZI, "this represents the best investment possible in ensuring that the highest standards of service AIAS provides to support the development of disabled persons and their families continues".
AIAS, an association operating since 1966 in support of children suffering from physical disabilities and requiring intensive physiotherapy, has over time expanded its interventions. It now offers support to patients suffering from cognitive, neurological and language disorders.
Nowadays, in addition to the activities performed at "Aldo Moro" centre, AIAS also offers neuropsychological rehabilitation, a neuromotor service with functional recovery for adults, didactic support for children and teenagers with specific learning disabilities, and since 2012 also an experimental support project for patients with autism.
The NIWIC (NRDC-ITA Women's International Club) is a voluntary charity organization whose members are wives, companions and NRDC-ITA personnel whose aim is to improve mutual relationships among the multinational staff. It does this in order to create a cohesive social work environment and help provide the kind of support military personnel and their families need. Among the charitable activities organized by the NIWIC there are social events, fund raising initiatives to provide for local communities, meetings for the inclusion of foreign personnel and the participation to collective cultural events.
