Milan, 22 October 2020. Lieutenant General Roger L. Cloutier Jr (USA), Commander of the NATO Allied Land Command (LANDCOM), visited the NATO Rapid Deployable Corps Italy (NRDC-ITA) today.

Lieutenant General Cloutier was updated on several activities occurring at NATO Command in Milan to maintain high readiness and to routinely train the staff.
An overview of the HQ’s experiences during COVID-19 emergency was also provided to LANDCOM Commander to better inform NATO HQs about important lessons learned.
The visit continued with a highlight of the training and academic activities that NRDC-ITA conducted during the last year. These include the cross functional exercises “Eagle Hermes” and “Eagle Hephestos”, two training events held in recent weeks, during which the information environment and the coordination and synchronization among branches were examined.
Then, General Cloutier chaired the Graduated Readiness Forces (Land) meeting, held in Ugo Mara Barracks. He appreciated the synergy, professionalism and passion found in the NRDC-ITA staff.
