EXERCISE LION START '02

The aim of this exercise, which was the first for the newly established Headquarters, was to test the capability of the HQ's Staff to apply SOPs and SOIs’ procedures in order to achieve the goals for future training activities.

Exercise Lion StartHQ NRDC-IT held Exercise LION START from 5 to 8 February 2002. The aim of this exercise was to test the capability of the HQ's Staff to apply SOPs and SOIs’ procedures in order to achieve the objectives for the future training activities. Exercise LION START 01 was a Computer Assisted Exercise (CAX) where HRF (L) MAIN has operated as Land Component Commander (LCC) in a scenario of conventional war fighting in a regional conflict, conducting a non-article 5 Crisis Response Operation (CRO).

In this context Chiefs/ACOSs, were responsible for their functional area, and activated the functional cells in order to give more reality to the development of the exercise.
