SOLBIATE OLONA (VA) 10 Nov 06.  HQ NRDC-IT continues to strengthen its links with the neighbouring community this week as it takes part in a local exhibition.  A photographic and video show entitled  From Albania to Afghanistan:  Busto Arsizio Promotes Peace  is taking place in the nearby town.
In partnership with the Red Cross, UNUCI and the Municipality of Busto Arsizio, HQ NRDC-IT is displaying striking images taken during its recent tour in Afghanistan.  The exhibition, which is open to the public, aims to inform the local community about the roles both institutions undertake.
As well as members of the public, the show has also attracted many visits from local schoolchildren.  It’s really important that we show the local community, and particularly the children, what we do  says event organizer, Lieutenant Colonel Carlo Salsotto.
The display, which also includes images of the Italian Red Cross in action in countries such as Albania, is being extremely well received by visitors and officials in Busto Arsizio.  As soon as we got back to school we told our colleagues and now they all want to visit says a local teacher.
