SOLBIATE OLONA (VA), 17th june 2011. Personnel of NATO Rapid Deployable Corps Italy (NRDC-ITA) in Solbiate Olona took part to the Exercise Steadfast Cobalt 2011, concluded today in The Netherlands.
The exercise was aimed at developing and verifying the status of progresses made in the field of interoperability and capacity of automated command and control systems used among NATO and allied countries.
The objective was to test the full range of interoperability procedures among information systems coming from different countries in order to provide the commanders on the ground with a Joint Common Operational Picture, which will give a detailed vision of the situation on the ground in every operational theatre.
All the lessons learned from the Steadfast Cobalt 2011 will be implemented during next October NRDC-ITA’s main exercise, in which the Headquarters will temporarily move near Rome to conduct the practical phase of the exercise Eagle Roster 3.
