EAGLE CARE 2011 SEMINAR AT NRDC-ITA

The Seminar EAGLE CARE 2011 was held from 28-29 September 2011 in Solbiate Olona (VA), Italy, with the main effort of the NRDC-ITA CSS DIV MEDICAL BRANCH and in cooperation with G4 branch.
The aim of the Seminar was to meet national medical/logistics representatives from the contributing nations to  NRDC-ITA in order to discuss some aspects of the ROLE 2 medical support, regarding capabilities and logistic aspects.


SOLBIATE OLONA (VA), 29 SEP 2011. The Seminar EAGLE CARE 2011 was held from 28-29 September 2011 in Solbiate Olona (VA), Italy, with the main effort of the NRDC-ITA CSS DIV MEDICAL BRANCH and in cooperation with G4 branch.
The aim of the Seminar was to meet national medical/logistics representatives from the contributing nations to  NRDC-ITA in order to discuss some aspects of the ROLE 2 medical support, regarding capabilities and logistic aspects. In particular: national solution about ROLE 2 Light Maneuver (LM) and ROLE 2 Enhanced (E), deployment timing, resupply, mobility, chemical-biological-radiological-nuclear (CBRN) protection and decontamination capability, Major Incident/ MASCAL internal plan, lesson identified from current operation.
The final target was to collect all the information in order to create a database on the ROLE 2 MTFs ( something increasing the simple info already included in the AmedP-16 pubblication) allowing and facilitating medical and logistics planner in planning for a feasible medical support.
During the Seminar, 30 participants from 10 different NATO countries (Italy, UK, USA, Norway, Spain, Turkey, France, Germany, Netherlands and Greece) have exchanged practical information and experiences on national ROLE 2. The intense and stimulating discussions followed the national briefings on ROLE 2, during the first day of the seminar, have involved different topics providing a comprehensive overview on structure, capabilities, deployment timing, mobility, resupply and other different aspects. During the second day of the seminar, the discussion moved to logistics: blood supply and linked issues, oxigen supply and related legislation issues.
The NRDC-ITA Medical Advisor, Col. Dr. Giuseppe AZZENA and the Seminar spokesman, Ltc. Dr. Francesco GAETA, have underlined the golden point of the activity, aimed to get the different subject matter experts (SMEs) together, analyze and match differents national/multinational solutions in order to provide to the medical/logistics planners a clear picture of the different aspects and key factors needed to answer all the questions that they have to face during the planning process, both in exercises and real operations.
