NRDC-ITA Battle Staff Training 1

As part of personal development training for Staff at the NATO Rapid Deployable Corps Italy (NRDC-ITA), 11 Personnel from the Headquarters completed Exercise EAGLE CLIMB 15, an adventurous training expedition to the Brescia region over the 18th and 19th of September.  During the expedition, the participants succeeded in their aim to summit the highest peak in the Adamello range; mount Adamello itself – standing at a majestic 3539 meters above sea level. 

On Monday 21st of September, NRDC-ITA started Battle Staff Training-1 (BST-1) for exercises Eagle Ready 15 and Eagle Vision 15, which will take place in November.The first of these exercises will train the Operational Liaison and Reconnaissance Team, and the
second will train the Joint Operational Planning Group. BST-1 is aimed at familiarizing NRDC Italy personnel with the planning procedures at operational level and with the required interactions between the two teams.  Subject Matters Experts from the HQ, as well as from the Academic world, presented several briefings to the Training Audience. Italian Army Brigadier General Luca Fontana, NRDC-ITA OLRT team leader met one of the experts, Mr. Massimo Franchi, a Reserve Officer of the Italian Army who specializes in negotiation techniques.Of the meeting and training, Brigadier Fontana said “This is an important moment to increase our knowledge and skills. Winning “hearts and minds” and developing collaborative relationships with audiences nowadays is essential for the achievement of peace and stability as well as for the collection of information”.
