Commander Allied Land Command visits Headquarters of NRDC-ITA

Solbiate Olona, 27 January 2015. This morning Lieutenant General John W Nicholson, Commander of the Allied Land Command in Izmir (Turkey), visited the HQ of NATO Rapid Deployable Corps - Italy (NRDC - ITA) at “Ugo Mara” Barracks in Solbiate Olona. Upon arrival, Lt General Nicholson was welcomed by the NRDC-ITA Commander, Lt General Riccardo Marchiò, and during his visit he was updated on the development of the activities that will enable NRDC – ITA 


Solbiate Olona, 27 January 2015. This morning Lieutenant General John W Nicholson, Commander of the Allied Land Command in Izmir (Turkey), visited the HQ of NATO Rapid Deployable Corps - Italy (NRDC - ITA) at “Ugo Mara” Barracks in Solbiate Olona. Upon arrival, Lt General Nicholson was welcomed by the NRDC-ITA Commander, Lt General Riccardo Marchiò, and during his visit he was updated on the development of the activities that will enable NRDC – ITA to act as Joint Task Force Headquarters (JTFHQ), with an increasing presence of Naval and Air Force personnel and a Command and Control capability at Operational as well as Tactical Level.
Later he was also shown the functional and logistic assets that the NRDC-ITA Support Brigade can provide to enable the unique structure of the Command. 
After the traditional signing of the Roll of Honour, General Nicholson met the personnel of the U.S. Contingent that serve in NRDC - ITA.
