Solbiate Olona (VA), 13th September 2017 - Following the signing of a cooperation agreement between CIELS (International European Centre for Foreign Languages) and the NATO Rapid Deployable Corps Italy a meeting was held today at the “Ugo Mara” barracks between Prof. Simone BORILE, General Manager of the Institute, and Major General Maurizio RICCÒ, Chief of Staff of the NRDC-ITA.
The agreement provides selected students with the possibility to test the skills developed during their studies and put them into practice with an internship program to be accomplished working side by side with analysts and Subject Matter Experts of the HQ. A first “cadre” of four students is already at work, providing quality products for the “Knowledge Development” team thus integrating point of view and considerations about sociological, political and economic aspects of crises and instability areas.
NATO is well aware that a military solution alone will never be enough to extinguish the burning fire of a conflict. Modern scenarios of crisis have deep root causes which require an analysis from as many points of view as possible to identify, if not the solution, at least the best solution possible.
For the Commander becomes crucial to be in possession of a very robust set of information to properly design and conduct any military campaign and to build, from the very beginning, relations with non-military actors, realizing the so called “comprehensive approach” which means to face the military planning with a multidimensional and an holistic approach.
