An international seminar for a better cooperation

Milan, 19th July 2017 - The NRDC-ITA and its Civil-Military Cooperation cell (CIMIC) has organised the seminar under the title of “Migrant crisis in the Mediterranean: from the emergency to a new strategy" in order to analyse the humanitarian situation in the Mediterranean both from a military and civilian point of view, as well as its direct and indirect impact on the migration flows and the possible role of NATO and International Organizations, in coping with this delicate issue.

Qualified Subject Matter Experts from the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE), from the International Organization for Migration (IOM), from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and from the Italian Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI) could confront their experience and point of view under the moderation made by Mr. Andrew Spannaus, American journalist and writer.
The seminar represented also an important opportunity to discuss the essential role and interaction between civilian and military actors in the current Mediterranean emergency.
