NATO Secretary General visits the Republic of Italy

On 27th April 2017, Jens Stoltenberg, NATO Secretary General, visited the Republic of Italy and met with the President of the Council of Ministers, Mr. Paolo Gentiloni.


On 27th April 2017, Jens Stoltenberg, NATO Secretary General, visited the Republic of Italy and met with the President of the Council of Ministers, Mr. Paolo Gentiloni.
In his speach, the Secretary General thanked Italy “for being such a vital and highly valued NATO ally. You are contributing to NATO missions, operations, activities in many different ways and that is of great importance for our shared security, for our collective defence and for the strength of the alliance.”

Among the topics underlined by Mr. Paolo Gentiloni, the role NATO has in containing threats emerging from NATO Southern Flank (the Mediterranean area) of our region as a whole: a role of capacity building for the stabilization.
