Solbite Olona (VA), “Ugo Mara” Barracks, 27-28th April 2017. NRDC-Italy and the Women’s International Club (NIWIC) organized a Basic Life Support-Defibrillation (BLS-D) course, for the benefit of NIWIC and family members.
The “Heart saver” training was aimed at spreading the necessary knowledge of a set of standardized and approved life-saving maneuvers to be performed in case of a cardiac arrest and includes the use of the Automated External Defibrillators (AED), a new device becoming a must have for public places and populated areas.
Taken from the medical staff of the NRDC – Italy HQ, a qualified instructor team performed the lessons and the examination for about 30 participants, both adults and teenagers, under the "American Heart Association" supervision (an organization in the field of the reduction of the number of victims from heart disease since 1915!) who certifies the BLS-D course achievement.
“The very first 10 minutes are the most critical for the saving-life chain - Col. Michele TIRICO, Chief Med/Medical Advisor of the HQ, said - and that is the reason for spreading as much as possible the necessary knowledge and first aid culture, as well as the diffusion of the AED, up to family environment”.
