Tag der Deutschen Einheit at NRDC-ITA

Solbiate Olona, 4th October 2016 – Members from the 12 contributing nations to the NRDC-ITA attended the celebration of the Day of German Unity (Tag der Deutschen Einheit) at “Ugo Mara” barracks. It commemorates the anniversary of German reunification, October the 3rd 1990, after the fall of the Berlin Wall, which marked the beginning of the end of East Germany. West German Chancellor Helmut Kohl soon began negotiations with East German officials to return Germany to a single nation.

Lt. Gen. Roberto Perretti welcomed the German General Consul in Milan, Ms Jutta Wolke, and thanked all the members of the German contingent for their efforts and contribution to the doctrinal development and conceptual operational planning of the HQ. Col. Thomas Greggersen, German senior representative and Deputy DCOS Influence Division at NRDC-ITA, remembered the values of freedom, unity and cooperation, which are the common values where the Allied countries are based on.
